We decided on all things bugs … well almost … as The Clare Castle describes themselves as ‘Home of the Moreton Bay Bug’. Given they specialise in bugs, surprisingly, a couple of the dishes were quite disappointing. The bug Kataifi spent way too long in the deep fryer, resulting in an overcooked, chewy, tasteless offering. Also, their penchant for sriracha is evident as it made an appearance in many of the dishes we selected.
Mindful that wait staff is more than fifty percent of the experience, in addition to several mediocre dishes, we found dining at The Clare Castle rather underwhelming.
