Johnny Baker’s

John Stekerhofs was co-owner and chef at The French Lettuce in Carlton, a place I used to frequent years ago when I lived literally a few minutes away. Nowadays he’s located at Johnny Baker’s hidden away at the rear of the Newnorthern Art Hotel in Barker’s Street, Castlemaine. An unassuming shop frontage however when you step inside you are in for a real treat of cakes, pastries, pies and good coffee. There was a constant stream of folk coming through the door to choose their goodies and the many staff I observed would certainly be flat out keeping up with the demand!
